Our Story

The Love Legacy Family Foundation was born from the extraordinary example of one man—our father, Pastor Bishop Roosevelt Campbell.

For decades, he didn’t simply preach love from the pulpit; he lived it in the community, especially among people who were often overlooked, misunderstood, or forgotten.

For more than 20 years, every Tuesday, Dad faithfully showed up at the Rhode Island Training Center, pouring into young lives and reminding them that their circumstances did not define their future. He saw potential where others saw problems. He believed in restoration, purpose, accountability, and the power of love.

His legacy of love extended into his home as well. He stood beside our mother for 43 beautiful years, building a marriage that reflected faithfulness, commitment, family, and faith.

The Love Legacy Family Foundation was created to carry that spirit forward.

The Legacy Gathering

Our Legacy Gathering, held September 4–6, is a celebration of Bishop Roosevelt Campbell’s life, legacy, and impact.

The gathering brings family, friends, community partners, and supporters together to remember a man who dedicated his life to serving others while also creating opportunities to continue the work he cared so deeply about.

Through our partnerships with Foster Forward and the Rhode Island Training Center, the gathering transforms remembrance into action.

We don’t just remember his legacy. We continue it.

Our Vision for the Future

As the Love Legacy Family Foundation grows, we envision creating programs and opportunities that support young people and individuals rebuilding their lives, including:

Scholarships for youth reentering the community
Books, journals, and educational resources
Hygiene and care packages, where permitted
Mentorship and life-skills workshops
Financial literacy and entrepreneurship education
Music, art, and creative-expression programs
Guest speakers who share stories of overcoming adversity
Holiday meals, celebrations, and recognition ceremonies
Reentry support, including backpacks, interview clothing, and basic necessities

Legacy Planning

A major part of our Legacy Gathering is helping families think beyond today and prepare for tomorrow.

Our Legacy Planning Panel will explore the importance of life insurance, estate planning, financial preparation, and intentional legacy building.
